President Donald J. Trump met with President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland today. Their meeting was private without any journalists or White House officials present. It was followed by a press conference where reporters were given the opportunity to ask two questions to both Trump and Putin. It is this press conference that Trump illustrated that his trust does not lie with the country he was sworn to protect but rather with Putin. As usual, Trump heaped a lot of praise to Putin and continued to belittle the United States and the presidents who preceded him. Trump was asked directly whether he believed U.S intelligence that Russia meddled in the elections or Putin. Trump responded by talking about the whole Clinton email server issue, had the audacity to say that that would never had happened in Russia, and that he “didn’t see any reason why it would be [Russia]”. Putin added to Trump’s response with his own criticisms of the United States government! All that means is that he believes Putin over his own country. Yes folks, the President of the United States considers Russia to be more credible than his own country.
Throughout the press conference, it was apparent that Trump continues to be enamored with Vladimir Putin and desperately wants his approval. He frequently smiled and/or nodded his head when Putin spoke. Trump campaigned on the promise that he would be a “strong leader” and even accused President Obama of being soft on Putin when he told him to “Cut it out.” Trump’s performance at today’s press conference was embarrassing and shameful. It was clear that it was Russia, not the United States, that was in charge. It was shocking to see a U.S President side with Russia AGAINST the U.S. government! Trump and Putin are united in their disdain for the U.S. federal government. The Political Great Whine seriously wonders whether Trump’s behavior could be considered treasonous? Also, how can Trump effectively lead a country that he believes is out to get him? If you did not see the press conference, please check it out below. It is truly disappointing to see Trump speak so negatively about the country he is supposed to be leading and so positively about the leader of a country who hates America. All the Political Great Whine can say is —– Wow.” Trump’s campaign slogan may have been “Make America Great Again” but it really should have been “Make Russia Great Again”.
Thanks for “listening” to me whine. Hopefully my whining has made you think. If so, tell your friends/family/colleagues that you heard it through the Political Great Whine!
